Baby Swing Maintenance Guide
Since a baby swing is used for your precious little one, you have to take care good of it. It will provide your baby with optimum comfort as long as it’s in its utmost condition. Now let’s see how you can get into the cleaning and maintaining process.
Since the swing is in contact with your baby, you need to make sure it remains bacteria-free. You can use a mild soapy water solution or baking soda to clean up the swing. But don’t use any harsh chemicals as it can leave residues which can harm your baby. Many swings come with removable seat covers. If yours do too, then remove it and wash it separately. Follow the label to see if it can be put in the washing machine. Wash the cover and leave it out to air dry completely.
Now take the cleaning solution (soapy water or baking soda with water) and scrub over the swing. You can use a soft cloth or sponge to scrub the swing. Make sure you don’t leave out any part that you can reach. Check the buckles and straps for any malfunctions. If your swing has a music player, try to avoid getting near that. Make sure you change the batteries regularly. Many swings come with small baby toys. You should also clean them as you clean the swing. Take the toys and put them in a bowl full of soapy water. After they’re scrubbed clean, leave them out to dry.
After you’re done scrubbing the swing, take a damp cloth and clean the residues. Make sure everything is dry before you put them all back together.
